Below is the famed Mona Lisa, put into a Golden Section.  Throughout the Renaissance, the golden ratio was used in art, and helped to define the culture of the period.

 As demonstrated above, the Mona Lisa's face is a perfect golden rectangle, though precision is not given in this image, giving the painting its mysterious beauty.  Please note that the above equation is incorrect, and should be 1/x=x/(x+1)  

Below is yet another of Da Vinci's works, this one titled Divina Proportione.  It is also based on the Golden Ratio.
